This policy explains what information HustleTycoon ("the game", "we") does and does not handle when you play at hustletycoon.com. The short version: you can play the whole game with no account and your progress stays on your device. A few optional features — leaderboards, world chat, and buying Capital Coins — require signing in, and this policy explains exactly what that involves.
Playing without an account
You do not need to sign up or log in to play. Without an account we do not ask for or collect your name, email address, phone number, or location. Your progress is stored locally in your browser using IndexedDB (and a service-worker cache that lets the game load offline). That save data never leaves your device. Because the save is local:
- Clearing your browser's site data, using private/incognito mode, or switching devices or browsers will start you with a fresh game.
- Without an account we cannot see, recover, or transfer your save. Keep that in mind before clearing site data.
Optional sign-in (leaderboards, chat, purchases)
To use the social features — global leaderboards, daily prizes, and world chat — you sign in with Google. When you do, we receive from Google a basic account identifier and your email address, and we store the following on our own server:
- The display name (username) you choose the first time you sign in.
- Gameplay statistics you submit for the leaderboards (for example cash earned today, biggest empire, number of prestiges).
- Any chat messages you post in world chat.
- A record of any purchases you make (see below).
We use this data only to run the features you asked for: to show leaderboards, deliver daily prizes, and display chat. Your username and leaderboard rank are visible to other players; world chat is public, so please don't post anything private there. Chat is lightly moderated (a profanity filter and rate limits) to keep it usable.
Payments
Buying Capital Coins is entirely optional. Payments are processed by Stripe, our payment provider. Your card details are entered on Stripe's secure checkout and are handled by Stripe — we never see or store your full card number. We keep only a record that a purchase was completed so we can grant the coins to your account. Stripe's handling of your payment information is governed by Stripe's own privacy policy.
Analytics and advertising
HustleTycoon does not include third-party advertising or cross-site tracking, and does not sell or share your information. The game contains an internal analytics interface used during development, but in this release it is a local placeholder that records nothing and transmits nothing off your device.
Cookies
If you sign in, we use a session cookie to keep you logged in — that is its only purpose. If you never sign in, the game does not use cookies to track or identify you; any local storage it uses is purely technical (your game save and offline support).
Server logs
Like nearly all websites, the server that delivers the game may keep standard access logs — for example your IP address, browser type, the pages or files requested, and the time of the request. These logs are used only to operate the site securely and reliably (for example, to diagnose errors and prevent abuse). They are not used to build a profile of you and are retained only for a short period.
Third-party services
The site is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection using a certificate from Let's Encrypt. We use Google for optional sign-in and Stripe for optional payments, as described above; each processes only the information needed to provide that service. The site is delivered by our web hosting, which processes the technical request information described under "Server logs".
Deleting your data
If you signed in and want your account data (username, leaderboard stats, and chat messages) removed, contact us at the address below and we will delete it. Your local game save is under your control — you can clear it any time from your browser's settings.
Children
HustleTycoon is suitable for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the game evolves. Any changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. If a change ever means we would collect meaningfully more personal data, we will make that clear before it takes effect.
