HustleTycoon is an idle tycoon game. You buy businesses that produce cash, reinvest that cash to grow faster, automate the whole thing, and eventually reset for permanent bonuses that let you go even further. This manual walks through every system, roughly in the order you'll meet it.
1. The core loop
- Buy a unit of a business (you start with a vending machine).
- It produces revenue over time into a holding buffer.
- Collect that revenue into your cash.
- Use the cash to buy more units — or unlock the next, bigger business.
- Repeat, automate, and reinvest.
That's the whole game in one sentence: earn, reinvest, automate, repeat. Everything below makes that loop faster.
2. Businesses & buying units
There are twenty-seven tiers of business, from the humble vending machine up through laundromats, storage, skyscrapers, data centers, solar swarms, and on to interstellar fleets, a multiverse nexus, and finally a transcendent Omega Point. Each new tier costs far more than the last but earns far more too.
Units and cost
Every business is made of units. Buy more units to increase that business's income. Use Buy for one at a time, or Buy Max to purchase as many as your cash allows in a single tap.
Diminishing returns
Income per unit tapers as you stack thousands of the same business — each tenfold jump in units earns a little less at the margin. Buying more is always worth it (your total income never drops), but the tapering is a gentle nudge to unlock the next tier rather than pile everything into one.
Unit cap
Each business has a maximum number of units. When you hit the cap, expand into the next business — or raise the cap with a Capacity upgrade (see below).
3. Collecting & the buffer
An un-automated business fills a buffer as it earns, then stops once the buffer is full. Tap Collect to bank the buffered cash and let it start filling again. The buffer size is also your idle cap for that business — a full buffer means it's waiting for you, so collect regularly in the early game.
4. Managers — automation
Hiring a manager for a business makes it run itself: it auto-collects and keeps earning without you, and the income flows straight to your cash. Managers are the difference between a game you babysit and a game that earns while you're away. Automate your reliable earners first, then keep hiring up the ladder.
5. Boosters
Each business has boosters — cash-bought upgrades that multiply that business's revenue. They unlock as you own more units (at 10, 40, 160, and 640 units) and stack multiplicatively, so a booster-heavy business massively out-earns a bare one. Buying boosters for your workhorse businesses is one of the best uses of spare cash.
6. Offline earnings
Close the tab and your managed businesses keep earning. When you return, HustleTycoon shows what you banked while away, up to an offline cap. You can raise that cap with an equity upgrade, so longer breaks pay off more.
7. Prestige — selling your portfolio
What counts as portfolio value: the total you have invested in machines — the combined cost of every unit you own. Cash sitting in your balance and un-collected buffers do not count. So you cross the sell threshold by owning businesses, not by hoarding cash: if you are close, spend your cash on units rather than saving it.
Progress eventually slows. That's the signal to Sell Portfolio (prestige). When your portfolio value reaches the sell threshold, you can cash out your whole empire for Equity Points (EP) — a permanent currency.
- Selling resets your cash and businesses back to a fresh start.
- It keeps your Equity Points, equity upgrades, research, capacity upgrades, achievements, and coins.
- The next sell threshold rises each time you prestige, and there is a short cooldown between sales — so each reset is a bigger, more deliberate step.
The magic of prestige: with EP-funded upgrades, your next run blasts through content that took hours the first time.
8. Spending Equity Points
Equity shop
Spend EP on permanent, cross-run upgrades such as global revenue multipliers, cheaper units, more starting cash, a higher offline cap, a manager-hiring discount, and a bonus to future sales. These persist through every prestige.
Research
Research nodes are permanent unlocks that further boost revenue, reduce costs, and improve your economy. Like equity upgrades, they never reset.
Capacity upgrades
Bought with EP, a capacity upgrade raises a specific business's unit cap tenfold per level (up to five levels), letting your favorite businesses scale far past their default ceiling.
9. The daily market
Every day the market shifts: a couple of business categories get a demand spike (a big revenue bonus) while another takes a slump. The same market applies to everyone and is stable for the whole day, so check it and lean into whatever's spiking.
10. Events
From time to time an event pops up with two choices: a safe option with a guaranteed bonus, and a high-risk option that might pay off big or backfire. The resulting bonus or penalty lasts for the rest of your current run (until your next prestige), so weigh how much run you have left before you gamble.
11. Daily rewards & missions
Log in each day to claim a daily reward — the streak builds over a week and pays out cash, capped by a big Equity Point bonus on day seven. Daily missions give you a few bite-sized goals that reset each day; complete them and claim the reward from the Goals screen.
One of the daily missions is to pitch in on a world event — a single contribution to an active crisis completes it, and it pays 1 Equity Point.
12. Achievements & Goals
Achievements are one-time badges for milestones — your first unit, your hundredth, your first prestige, and so on. Each earned achievement holds a cash reward that you collect manually in the Goals screen (tap Collect). Nothing is added to your balance automatically, so pop into Goals now and then to bank what you've earned.
13. Capital Coins & contracts
Capital Coins are a special currency you earn through play — including by completing daily contracts — and spend on coin boosts and cosmetic themes for an extra edge. Coins and the things you buy with them persist across prestige. You can also buy coins directly through secure checkout — card, Google Pay, or Apple Pay — if you'd like to support the game. Equipped themes restyle the whole game — background, accent, and glow, not just a color — and while most are bought with coins, several are unlocked by earning achievements.
14. Leaderboards, chat & signing in
You can play the whole game — every business, prestige, research, ascension, and the store — without a Google account. You just pick a username first (required to play). Signing in with Google is optional but recommended: it saves your progress across devices and unlocks the social extras — global leaderboards across categories like your best single run, cash earned today, biggest empire, prestiges, and total crisis relief contributed to world events; a moderated world chat; and daily prizes for the top earners each day (Capital Coins plus an exclusive 24-hour cosmetic theme). A live counter at the top of the screen shows the exact number of Live users active in the last day.
The board you land on first is Best Run — the highest portfolio value you have ever reached inside a single run. It is a personal record, so selling your portfolio never lowers it: it stands until you beat it. The world chat also speaks up on its own now, marking the start of each new day and welcoming players the first time they join.
Daily prizes. The three biggest earners of each day win Capital Coins when the day closes — 100 for first, 50 for second, 25 for third — plus a 24-hour cosmetic theme. The day, and the Today's Earnings board along with it, resets at noon New York time.
15. Strategy tips
- Automate early. A manager on your top earner pays for itself fast and frees you from tapping Collect.
- Push into new tiers. Because of diminishing returns, unlocking the next business usually beats over-stacking the current one.
- Buy boosters for your workhorses. Multiplicative stacking makes them some of the best value in the game.
- Don't prestige too early or too late. Sell when your growth has clearly stalled — you'll come back far stronger.
- Follow the daily market. Pour investment into whatever category is spiking that day.
- Check Goals for uncollected cash. Achievement rewards wait there until you collect them.
16. Saving & offline play
Your game saves automatically to your device and needs no account. Because the save is local, clearing your browser's site data will reset your progress — see the Privacy Policy for details. HustleTycoon is also a Progressive Web App: add it to your home screen to play offline and launch it like a native app.
17. Ascension — the permanent web
After your fifth prestige, the Ascension tree unlocks (the 🌌 icon). It's a permanent upgrade web bought with Capital Coins — nothing here ever resets. Start at the central node and buy outward along four branches, each with its own effect:
- Automation — your managed businesses earn faster.
- Capital — every unit you buy gets cheaper, tier by tier.
- Cosmic — a raw multiplier on all your revenue.
- Reputation — more Capital Coins from your daily rewards.
Where two branches meet, powerful synergy nodes blend both effects. Plan a path toward the perks that fit your playstyle.
18. World Events
Every so often a crisis hits the whole world — a union strike, a supply blockade, a media scandal (watch for the 💀 icon). Signed-in players chip in to a shared effort bar one click at a time, each click spending about a minute of your income. There's a short cooldown between clicks, so settling a crisis takes real time — a determined solo player can clear one alone over many clicks, and others can pitch in to speed it up. Only one crisis runs at a time — they're spaced out (roughly every 30 minutes, 75 minutes, and 4 hours by level) and the board resets each day. When the bar fills, the crisis is settled, the player who delivered the final push is named in world chat, and every player gets a temporary global income bonus. Contributors also earn a few Capital Coins and a bigger personal cut — and your total effort feeds the Crisis Relief leaderboard. Crises are announced in world chat, so jump in fast.
19. The daily reset & fading bonuses
Once a day, at noon Eastern Time, every run ends automatically. If your portfolio had passed the sell threshold it's cashed out for EP (you'll see the sale on your next visit); if it hadn't, it simply resets to a fresh start with no EP. A run started less than 3 hours before the reset is left alone to continue. When a run finishes you'll also see what percentile it landed in versus your past runs.
One more thing: bonuses from events and world crises now fade over time, drifting back toward normal after they land — so put a big multiplier to work while it's hot.
